Perryton, Texas 62 miles North of Pampa, is my favorite town in Ochiltree, County. 8000 hardy souls keep the wheels turning day after day. Now in a town such as this, where do you eat? Where do the locals go? Well we say either sushi made by Ninja’s or some great Mexican food. What else do you really need? How often do you find great Sushi in the Texas Panhandle?

Right next door to the Panola County Heritage Museum, the Texas Tea Room serves up a BLT with Brie, utilizing their Apricot Mayonnaise as a spread. They have Wraps, Salads, 3 Cheese Hot Artichoke Dip, Wings, Burgers, Pasta, Shrimp, Salmon, Fish and more. Huge variety and large portions with wonderful desserts.

When in Carthage do as the Carthageithians do (Is that even a word?). Go eat at the Texas Tea Room. Prose the starter section and select a mouthwatering appetizer for the whole family! What about Brew City Onion Rings or Three Cheese Hot Artichoke Dip! So many wonderful things to choose from.
Soup and Salad Menu
Choose from so many delicious salads. Why not a Chipotle Steak Salad or a Cranberry Spinach Salad. Stay healthy and your body will thank you.
The Wraps
If a Soup, Salad, or Starter is not your speed. Then try out of the Texas Tea Room’s Wraps. Our favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap! Grilled Buffalo Chicken, Blue Cheese Crumbles, lettuce, tomato, red onion and homemade ranch.
The Sandwiches
On a visit to the Texas Tea Room, start off by choosing a delicious sandwich. So many interesting choices await your decision. Try the Pimento Cheese, a Southern classic! Served on your choice of a croissant or nut bread. Indulge your taste buds on a trip to flavor town, by ordering a Tea Room Burger. If you choose from the House Specialties, try the Mississippi Catfish or maybe the Honey Chicken!

Eggs are made to order and come with Bacon, Sausage, or Ham with toast for only $7.90. Try the hamburger salad for a low-carb option. Cox Grill is close to the Discovery Science Place and it is an old-time family-owned Diner. They serve up a mean Chicken Fried Chicken and have incredible pies like their “Chocolate Lasagna” Pie. Homemade Chili is also available. Note that they only accept cash or check.
