A family-owned restaurant, Bella Luna is most famous for their Linguini Pescatore, Bolognese, alfredo & sea-food pasta, and their signature veal piccata. Bella Luna also offers a chef special, which is not a set dish but a surprise cooked up by the Chef’s culinary genius on the go. If you live in the general Waco area or are just passing by looking for some chic water-front eatery, Bella Luna is it! You can’t get more Italian than that. Giving you an authentic Italian dining experience, Bella Luna has the best assortment of pasta specials, seafood, chicken, lamb, veal and steaks. With the exception of Sunday, the establishment is operational everyday from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Other than The Copper Bull, there are no restaurants or eateries in immediate proximity to Bella Luna Italian Bistro, Waco, TX. However, towards the eastern end there’s a Whataburger and Sal’s Pizzeria & grill near the sea recreation center; and on the western end there’s Vinnie R’s, Johnny Huston’s and Navarre O’Hare’s close to the Emerald Ghost Fishing Charters.

Going further down west you can get to the Hachi Japanese Grill, Oishii Japan, New York Pizza, Thai Hut, East River Smokehouse, Cactus Flower, and the Slippery Mermaid sushi just past a McDonald’s on Navarre Parkway.

Other than restaurants and other dining places, there are a lot of businesses around Bella Luna, Waco like the Studio 98 Hair Designs next door. There is a Walmart at an arm’s length away just across the road from the Sound at Navarre. Amy’s Attic, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, St Francis Veterinary Center. Then visit Synergy Hair Studios, Blue Coral Day Spa and Skincare Clinic are to the west.

Whereas to the east, one can find the Navarre Press next to the Fishbein Orthodontics, Beatnix Fashions, Hair by Jessica Modlin next doors to Dollar General, and the Hampton Inn & Suites Navarre with the Memorial Garden a little farther down the road next to Lewis Funeral Home.

Lums BBQ It’s unexpected to purchase fantastic barbecue at a convenience store/gas station. But Lums has pulled it off! Featuring brisket, sausage, pulled pork, turkey, and ribs, Lums stands out from the competition. Greeted inside the door by the chalkboard, you can make your selection there and then order over the counter. The meats are on display for you to see. Do you takeout, and pick up a few groceries while you are there, or eat at one of the picnic tables in the rustic wood room.

There are more tables outside in the courtyard under the awning or out in the privatly fenced area. Sandwiches start at $6.49, or buy a whole family pack of meat by the pound. You can even order spicy spaghetti as a side, or pick a more traditional one like potato salad or coleslaw. Lums is a fun place to eat.

Giuseppes Italian Restaurant This is such a unique place, and even if you are not hungry you need to step inside the door and take a look. The ceilings are painted like sky, and there is a cathedral at the top of the stairs. You truly feel like you are in Italy. This restaurant is very unique and and beautifully painted with murals. It was an unexpected surprise because it is next-door to a service station. This is true Italian food, and the owner is Italian and has been serving up wonderful dishes for many years.

Lunch specials are offered Monday through Friday from 11 AM until 3 PM. Such favorites as lasagna, cannelloni, chicken parmesan, chicken alfredo, and manicotti, are starting at $6.95. The entrées come with spaghetti and include a variety of veal, ribeye, chicken, or shrimp. The special for the day when I was there was lobster ravioli served with garlic bread. Pizzas are also available from 12 inches to 18 inches with a variety of toppings for $8.99 For the small, and$16.99 for the large.
